Course overview · the full curriculum

Two days that turn an interesting idea into a working clinic.

Two days, max six people, taught by clinicians who run their own ear care practices today. You arrive with a question. You leave with a CPD-certified qualification, your hands on three different removal techniques, the legal structure to trade tomorrow, and a small group of fellow practitioners about to do exactly what you’re doing. Hour by hour, here is what gets taught and when.

Before you arrive (and long after)

A real curriculum, not a welcome PDF.

From the moment you book, your members area opens. Inside is the UK's most comprehensive pre-learning programme for ear wax removal, written in-house by our own audiologists and doctors.

The curriculum.

Anatomy and cerumen physiology. Otoscopy fundamentals. Pathology recognition: otitis externa, perforations, foreign bodies. UK scope of practice and legal consent frameworks.

Quizzes you actually use.

Each module ends with a quiz. Retake as many times as you like. They aren't gatekeeping; they're feedback for you to see where you're sharp and where you need another pass.

Yours for good.

Fully digital, always updated. The members area doesn't lock after the practical day. Come back a year later to revise or look something up while a patient sits in the chair.

How the two days actually break down.

The most common question we get: how much of the course is reading slides and how much is hands-on with the equipment? Here is the real split, measured in minutes (not in sessions), across both days. The biggest chunk by a long way is hands-on practical work, supervised by clinicians who run their own ear care practices today.

THEORY 20%
PRACTICAL 50%
BUSINESS 30%

Time-weighted, not session-count. Theory (20%): anatomy, conditions and abnormalities, ear wax fundamentals, foreign bodies and home methods, methods explained. Practical with clinicians (50%): every minute you spend with a machine, an otoscope or another human in front of you. Day 1 PM otoscope handling, the 75-min mock consultations, plus irrigation and microsuction equipment work. Day 2 morning’s full 3.5 hours of microsuction and irrigation practical training. Every minute supervised by clinicians who run their own ear care practices. The thing every attendee tells us made the difference. Business (30%): Day 1 referrals and practice setup, Day 2 PM business structure first, then software & AI, paid advertising, local SEO and reviews.

Why we prioritize practical: The conversion lever for this audience is “hands-on time with working clinicians.” Equipment intros, mock consultations, and Day 2 machine work all count as practicing under supervision. Time- weighted, this is fully half the course.

ProPule Irrigation Machine

Fleem / DeVilbiss Microsuction

Advanced suction control and clinical housekeeping.

How you're assessed and what you walk out with.

The certification isn't a participation badge. You earn it by demonstrating competence during Day 2 practical training, observed by your trainer.

Premium Edinburgh venue

Held at Village Hotel Edinburgh — modern training rooms, on-site parking, and the bar & grill for your hot lunch.

CPD-accredited certificate

On successful completion, you receive a CPD-accredited certificate of training — the document insurers and referrers expect to see.

Insurance-ready

The certificate is what you submit to obtain professional indemnity and public liability insurance for an ear wax removal practice. Insurer requirements covered in Day 2.

Honest scope — what the course is and isn't.

Setting expectations matters more than oversell. Here is exactly what this course qualifies you to do, and where its scope ends.
What you will be qualified to do

Examine ears using an otoscope and identify ear wax, infection signs, perforation and foreign bodies.

Safely remove ear wax using microsuction, water irrigation or manual instrumentation.

Refer patients to GPs or ENT specialists when treatment isn’t appropriate.

Run an ear wax removal clinic, mobile or fixed, with the right insurance and legal structure in place.

And on day three, you’re trading.

Full UK certification. Clinical knowledge. Business setup. Marketing and patient acquisition. Plus ongoing WhatsApp support, the pre-learning members area kept current with the latest legislation, and the group of fellow practitioners you spent two days in the room with.

That last part matters more than most courses admit. The small-group format means you leave with a peer network actually invested in your success: a group chat that stays active, people to call when a tricky patient walks in, friends who understand exactly what you do. A new family to share the journey with.

The full breakdown of every outcome lives on the homepage to avoid duplication.
